The power is back on for thousands in the Yarmouth, N.S.,&nbsp;area after a major outage&nbsp;on Saturday afternoon.

Power was restored before 4:30 p.m. for all but a few hundred customers. At one point, outages affected more than 14,300 customers from Yarmouth to Barrington and Cape Sable Island.

Nova Scotia Power said on its Facebook page&nbsp;the problems were caused by damage to transmission equipment at the Tusket substation.

Following incidents of children unknowingly consuming THC-infused food, the Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia says it will open its own cannabis dispensary. The band is concerned with the sale of unregulated cannabis on the reserve.
