Police say one person is dead and two others were injured after a car left Highway 103, entered the ditch and rolled near Lakeside.&nbsp;

Halifax RCMP say the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Highway 103 was closed to traffic in both directions between exits 2 and 3 for much of the afternoon. By 3:30 p.m., the eastbound lanes had opened.&nbsp;

The car had three occupants. One person was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a news release.&nbsp;The other two occupants were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

IWK program helps teens switch to adult care and avoid relapses

The IWK is hoping more families of teenagers take part in a special program that helps them transition into adult care. The main concern is that patients will get lost in the shuffle, and possibly relapse once they leave the care of the children's hospital.

3 South Shore communities want clearcut moratorium

Three municipalities in southwestern Nova Scotia are asking the provincial government to halt clearcutting in Crown forests until new forestry regulations are in place. The municipalities are concerned clearcuts could permanently damage forests.
