Haitham El Khatib is a Palestinian Muslim who grew up in a refugee camp in Lebanon. Itamar Shani is a Jew who grew up on an Israeli settlement.
Each of them was raised believing the other was the enemy.
But when they both moved to Vancouver and opened their own restaurants, it led to a life-changing encounter that would teach them to shed the fear and hatred they had been carrying.
After realizing there was more connecting them than separating them, they decided to work together and use their passion for food to help others break barriers.
