Jim Carrey has set his wild sights on the literary world.
The actor has written a novel called Memoirs and Misinformation, Alfred A. Knopf announced on Oct. 2, 2019.
Along with co-author Dana Vachon, Carrey will take on celebrity, acting, romance and some other subjects he's familiar with.
The publisher is calling the book a "fearless and semi-autobiographical deconstruction of persona."
Memoirs and Misinformation is scheduled for publication in May 2020.
Carrey, who is planning a promotional tour for the book, is offering a semi-disclaimer: "None of this is real and all of it is true."
Carrey, 57, was born in Newmarket, Ont., in 1962, and gained international attention after appearing on the sketch comedy show In Living Color. He would go on to star in several films, including Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Man on the Moon.
He currently stars in the television series Kidding, playing a beloved children's television personality going through a difficult time. Kidding airs on The Movie Network and CraveTV in Canada.
Carrey is not the first actor in recent years to turn to fiction writing.
Tom Hanks wrote the short story collection Uncommon Type in 2017, Ethan Hawke has written four books, most recently the graphic novel Indeh, Lauren Graham wrote the novel Someday, Someday, Maybe in 2013, and Steve Martin has written one novella and two novels, among others.
