Liberal incumbent seeks 3rd term in Gatineau

Former Liberal party president won by 17,158 votes in 2019
Liberal Steven MacKinnon won Gatineau with 52 per cent of the vote in 2019, a feat the incumbent would like to repeat this time around.
In 2019, the former Liberal party president defeated his nearest opponent, the Bloc Québécois, by 17,158 votes.
He first took the western Quebec riding in 2015 from the NDP in what was considered one of the largest surprises of that election.
Also jockeying for votes:
- Joel Bernard for the Conservatives,
- The Rhinocerous Party's Sébastien Grenier,
- Green Rachid Jemmah, a former McDonald's manager now studying real estate,
- Luc Lavoie for the Free Party,
- Independence and environmental activist Geneviève Nadeau as the Bloc Québécois candidate again,
- Fernanda Rengel as the NDP candidate, a McGill student who moved to Quebec from Venezuela in 2009.
- Mathieu St-Jean, who cites experience in customer service, is running for the People's Party,
- and Pierre Soublière of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada.
