Teen charged with 2nd-degree murder appears in Saskatoon provincial court

22-year-old man who died in hospital considered city's 11th homicide of the year
A 17-year-old male appeared in Saskatoon youth court Monday morning after being charged with second degree murder.
The teen is charged in connection with Saskatoon's 11th homicide of the year.
On Sunday morning, police were called to the 3800 block of Fairlight Dr. at about 5 a.m. CST.
Officers found an injured 22-year-old man. He was taken to hospital where he died.
The 17-year-old was arrested shortly after and taken into custody.
Police said the two people knew each other.
The accused, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, did not enter a plea Monday and was remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court again on Wednesday.
The mother of the accused was in court but declined to be interviewed.
