The east Winnipeg riding of Transcona has been around since 1969, although its boundaries changed significantly in the 2018 riding redistribution. The riding gained a large portion of the nearby Radisson riding.
The ridings northern boundary runs along Gunn Road, and its western boundary runs along the Perimeter Highway. It includes the communities of Transcona and Canterbury Park.
Its population is 22,920, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is roughly on par with the overall provincial median, at 36.7 in Transcona compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $76,367.

- Roughly 16 per cent of residents identified as visible minorities in the 2016 census, according to the province's 2018 profile.
- Roughly a third of homes in the riding were built between 1961 and 1980, the profile says.
- The median value of a home in the riding is $250,654, the profile says, and roughly 83 per cent of residents reported they own their home.

The riding has been an NDP stronghold for 50 years.

- Dylan Bekkering (Liberal).
- Blair Yakimoski (Progressive Conservative).
