The northwest Manitoba riding of The Pas-Kameesak got its current name in the 2018 riding redistribution, after the riding of The Pas gained a large chunk of the former Interlake riding (now called Interlake-Gimli) and a portion of the Swan River riding.
The Manitoba-Saskatchewan border forms part of the riding's western boundary, and Lake Winnipeg forms most of its eastern boundary. Highways 60 and 6, respectively, make up parts of the southern and western boundaries as well.
The riding includes its namesake, The Pas, as well as Grand Rapids, Easterville, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Pinaymootang First Nation, Peguis First Nation, Lake St. Martin First Nation and Little Saskatchewan First Nation.
Its population is 20,905, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is nearly nine years younger than the overall provincial median, at 29.6 in The Pas-Kameesak compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $55,197.

- The riding has a greater percentage of residents under the age of 15 than the provincial percentage, at 28.2 per cent within the riding compared to 19.1 per cent provincewide, according to the province's 2018 profile and the 2016 census.
- Nearly six per cent of residents reported they speak an Indigenous language most often at home, the profile says, most of whom reported they speak Cree.
- More than 77 per cent of residents identified as Indigenous, the profile says.
- The median value of a home in the riding is $199,765, the profile says, and just under half of residents reported they own their home. An additional 30 per cent of residents reported they live in band housing.

The riding has been an NDP stronghold for 50 years.
- 1958, 1959, 1962 and 1966 elections: Progressive Conservative.
- 1969 onwards (13 general elections): NDP.

The nominated candidates for the 2019 election are:
- Ken Brandt (Liberal).
- Ronald Evans (Progressive Conservative).
- Amanda Lathlin (NDP).
- Ralph McLean (Green Party).
Candidates become official when they meet criteria set out in the province's Elections Act, including providing a statement of disclosure. In The Pas-Kameesak, all four candidates are official.
