The southeast Winnipeg riding of Seine River has been around since 1990, but its boundaries changed significantly in the most recent riding redistribution.
The updated version runs from Winnipeg city limits in the west to St. Anne's Road, the Perimeter Highway, the Seine River and city limits in the east. It's bounded to the north by the Perimeter Highway, the Red River, St. Mary's Road, Warden Avenue, Dakota Street and Southglen Boulevard and by city limits in the south.
The riding includes the communities of Dakota Crossing, St. Vital, Ritchot, Riel, Vermette, St. Germain, St. Norbert and Parc La Salle.
The riding's population is 21,900, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is roughly on par with the overall provincial median, at 38 in Seine River and 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $106,427.

- Roughly four per cent of residents reported they speak French most often at home in the 2016 census, according to the 2018 riding profile.

The nominated candidates for the 2019 election are:
- James Bloomfield (Liberal).
- Durdana Islam (NDP).
- Bryanne Lamoureux (Green Party).
- Janice Morley-Lecomte (Progressive Conservative).
Candidates become official when they meet criteria set out in the province's Elections Act, including providing a statement of disclosure. In Seine River, all candidates are official.
