The central Winnipeg riding of River Heights has been around since 1969, immediately southwest of the city's downtown.
The riding runs from the Assiniboine River in the north to the CNR Rivers rail line, Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue in the south.
The riding's population is 22,180, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is older than the provincial median, at 41.8 in River Heights and 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $91,509.
More facts about River Heights:
- Roughly 12 per cent of residents identified as visible minorities in the 2016 census, according to the 2018 riding profile.
- Roughly three-quarters of residents reported they own their homes, and the median value of a home in the riding is $349,754, the profile says.
- Roughly six per cent of residents identified as Indigenous, the profile says.
- More than three-quarters of the homes in the riding were built in 1960 or before, the profile says.

The riding has voted Liberal for the past 20 years.
- 1958-1981 elections (eight general elections): Progressive Conservative.

- Jonathan Niemczak (NDP).
- Nathan Zahn (Green Party).
