The large southeastern Manitoba riding of Lac du Bonnet was created in 1958, and runs west from the Manitoba-Ontario border.
The riding includes its namesake, Lac Du Bonnet, as well as Tyndall, Pinawa, Beausejour, Whitemouth, Hadashville, Ste. Rita and Powerview-Pine Falls.
The riding's population is 23,005, according to the province's 2018 riding profile(external link) (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is 13 years older than the overall provincial median, at 51.0 compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile(external link) and the 2016 census(external link). The census found the median household income in the area is $67,775.

The riding has been a Progressive Conservative stronghold since 1988.
