The southeastern Manitoba riding of Lakeside is one of Manitoba's oldest, having been on the books since 1886.
The riding runs north and northwest of Winnipeg and southwest of Lake Manitoba. In the 2018 riding redistribution, it lost a portion of its northern territory to Interlake-Gimli (previously called Interlake), but gained a chunk in the southwest from the neighbouring riding of Morris.
The riding captures many towns, villages and farming communities, including Stonewall, Stony Mountain, Teulon, St. Eustache, Elie and Argyle.
The riding's population is 23,405, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is slightly older than the overall provincial median, at 40.3 compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $88,018.
