Manitoba votes 2019: Lagimodière riding profile

This will be the first election for the new southeast Winnipeg riding of Lagimodière.
The riding was created in the 2018 riding redistribution to accommodate significant growth in Sage Creek, according to the Manitoba Electoral Boundaries Commission(external link).
The riding takes up territory previously included in the southern portion of the Southdale riding. It runs from Bishop Grandin Avenue along a Manitoba Hydro corridor in the north to city limits in the south. Its western boundary is St. Anne's Road and the Seine River and its eastern boundary is Plessis Road.
The riding includes the neighbourhoods of Island Lakes and Sage Creek.
The riding's population is 21,215, according to the province's 2018 riding profile(external link) (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is roughly on par with the overall provincial median, at 39.6 compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile(external link) and the 2016 census(external link). The census found the median household income in the area is $103,661.

The nominated candidates for the 2019 election are:
  • Billie Cross (NDP).
  • Bob Krul (Green Party of Manitoba).
  • Jake Sacher (Liberal).
  • Andrew Smith (Progressive Conservative).
