The riding is bounded to the south by the Assiniboine River and by Portage Avenue, Sturgeon Road and Ness Avenue in the north. The western boundary is Winnipeg city limits and the eastern boundary runs along Mount Royal Road and Portage Avenue.
The riding includes the neighbourhoods of St. Charles, Westwood, Birchwood and Silver Heights.
The riding's population is 22,210, according to the province's 2018 riding profile (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is older than the overall provincial median, at 47.1 compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile and the 2016 census. The census found the median household income in the area is $74,294.
