Manitoba votes 2019: Fort Whyte riding profile

The southern Winnipeg riding of Fort Whyte was created in 1999 and has been a Progressive Conservative stronghold ever since.
The riding is bounded to the north by the CNR Rivers rail line and Bishop Grandin Boulevard and by city limits in the south. It's bounded by Waverley Street in the east and by McCreary Road, city limits and Brady Road in the west.
The riding includes the neighbourhoods of Whyte Ridge and Linden Woods.
Its population is 21,780, according to the province's 2018 riding profile(external link) (compiled from the 2016 census).
The median age of the riding is several years older than the overall provincial median, at 45.1 compared to 38.3 provincewide, according to the 2018 riding profile(external link) and the 2016 census(external link). The census found the median household income in the area is $117,535.

  • Darrel Morin (Liberal).
  • Brian Pallister (Progressive Conservative).
