CBC News interviewed&nbsp;four Nova Scotians with harrowing cycling tales&nbsp;to tell, which&nbsp;shed light on the risks they weigh when pedalling alongside cars and trucks in the Halifax area — be it for health or transportation.

$25M allows Halifax to shift bike lane project into high gear

A 10-year plan to add to Halifax's bike lanes is now a three-year plan thanks to money from Ottawa and the government of Nova Scotia. All told, the three levels of government are contributing $25 million towards new bike lanes.

Victoria County man arrested in hit-and-run death of 10-year-old girl

Nova Scotia RCMP say a 27-year-old Victoria County man is facing several driving-related charges in the death of a 10-year-old girl who was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle last week.

Talia Forrest, 10, died in July after being struck by a vehicle while she was riding her bicycle on Black Road in rural Cape Breton.

Halifax police seek cyclist accused of slapping driver

Police say the alleged assault was reported to have taken place at Purcells Cove Road and Williams Lake Road on June 12 around 3:30 p.m. Police say a man in his 40s or 50s yelled at a driver and hit her in the face with an open hand.
