Shad, Pup, Marie Davidson and more to perform at 2019 Polaris Music Prize gala

The performers at the 2019 Polaris Music Prize gala has been announced.
Nine of this year's nominated acts — Shad, Pup, Elisapie, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Marie Davidson, Fet.Nat, Les Louanges, Haviah Mighty and Snotty Nose Rez Kids — will take the stage on Sept. 16 at the Carlu in Toronto. Tenth nominee, Jessie Reyez, will be in attendance. The 10 acts are up for the $50,000 grand prize and title of best Canadian album of the year. The decision will be made that night by an 11-member grand jury.

Melissa Vincent, A.Side (Toronto)

Previous winners of the Polaris Music Prize include Arcade Fire, Feist, Tanya Tagaq, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Lido Pimienta and last year's winner, Jeremy Dutcher.
