A man has been arrested and Forbes Street in the Halifax neighbourhood of Spryfield has reopened after a weapons complaint was made Tuesday to Halifax Regional Police.

Police were called to the apartment building at about 4 p.m. after receiving a call that a woman had been assaulted and that a firearm may have been involved.

When police arrived, according to a news release, they found the woman. She was taken to hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.

Police parked in front of 7 Forbes Street and evacuated an&nbsp;apartment building&nbsp;where the suspect was believed to have been inside.

By 9 p.m., police said the man was arrested on assault and weapons charges.

Lobster fishing dispute between families leads to 6-person melee

A wrench, a golf club and a baseball bat were some of the weapons used on Saturday in a fight in Little Harbour, N.S., between two families who have a long-standing dispute over the local lobster fishing industry.

Only another lobster could find another lobster attractive, but despite being kind of ugly they are high on the menu of many people and those people are waiting eagerly for the first of the season to hit the stores and restaurants.
