Hamilton police are investigating hateful graffiti targeting black and Jewish people that has appeared in a Dundas park and schoolyard in recent weeks.
Racial slurs have been spray painted on paths at Veteran's Memorial Park and swastikas have been carved into a sign and playground slide.
This past weekend swear words, slurs and swastikas were drawn in chalk on the pavement and doors of nearby St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School.
CBC News has viewed images of the hate speech, but decided not to publish them.
In an email, a spokesperson for Hamilton police said the service is investigating as both incidents are considered criminal offences and hate crimes.
Anyone with information about the graffiti is asked to contact police at 905-546-5678.
