Summerside police are trying to locate two trucks they say were stolen from the Summerside area on Tuesday.

Police say a black 2010 Dodge Ram was stolen around 2 a.m. from a residence on Read Drive with a P.E.I. license plate 433KE&nbsp;attached.

Police say the second truck, a white 2007 Toyota Tundra was taken from the St. Lawrence Street area between 12:30 and 1:25 p.m.

Police say the Toyota has a Nova Scotia license plate EKX039 attached.

Summerside police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

New nesting platform built to protect P.E.I. loons from predators

The Island Nature Trust is trying a new way to protect a pair of nesting loons at Deroche Pond in Blooming Point, P.E.I. The loon nesting platform is designed to keep the loon eggs away from predators, including raccoons on the shoreline and raptors in the sky.

The mesh over top of the platform is designed to protect the nest from raptors, including eagles.

Island man dies in single-vehicle accident

Queens District RCMP say an Island man is dead after a single vehicle accident on a road north of Charlottetown Tuesday.

An Island man is dead following a single vehicle collision north of Charlottetown, say Queens District RCMP.

Summerside police are asking anyone with information about the two stolen trucks to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
