Mike Mason hopes Diamond League season debut sets tone for possible 4th Olympics

Fit and healthy, Canadian high jumper Mike Mason will continue working on his mental strength and try to carry momentum from a recent world-leading jump of 2.31 metres into his Diamond League season debut Saturday in Shanghai (CBCSports.ca, 7 a.m. ET).

Coach Jeff Huntoon believed Canadian high jumper Mike Mason was in line to win the men’s event at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Australia after he cleared 2.24 metres. Mason, who is working at improving his mental strength in competition, later missed all three attempts at 2.27.
