The Arlington Bridge has&nbsp;reopened to traffic.

Winnipeg Police tweeted Sunday afternoon&nbsp;that the&nbsp;bridge was closed to traffic in both directions,&nbsp;due to newly discovered road damage.

The latest design for a new span over the CPR Winnipeg Yards will be unveiled to the public at an open house slated for Thursday evening at the North Centennial Recreation and Leisure Centre.

Consulting firm Stantec's scale model of the proposed Arlington Bridge includes the existing span. It will be on display at an open house Thursday evening.

In a release later in the day Sunday,&nbsp;the city said the bridge was&nbsp;closed&nbsp;after reports of "unsound conditions" on the bridge deck.&nbsp;

An inspection found some asphalt on the roadway had come loose, which&nbsp;required&nbsp;repairs.

In a tweet shortly after 5 p.m. the city said the bridge had been reopened to traffic.
