Faced with a car-covering coat of ice, many Ontario drivers decided to fight back
Is there an upside to finding your car encased in ice?
There was on Wednesday for many drivers, who found their cars coated in a layer of ice after freezing rain descended across the province.
Many posted videos of themselves punching through the ice-encrusted opening after rolling down their car windows.
Here, OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk uses his iced-up window to make a point about winter driving safety.
Sanchuk wasn't the only one sharing images of vehicles glazed over with ice.
These guys appear to take no small amount of joy in punching through ice that formed over their car.
Another smashing video here.
And here. This was posted as an Instagram by user @umairj.
This person found the glass too thick for smashing. Shame really.
This man used his face to smash the ice, so points for originality.
Also, this is a good time to remind everyone to first ensure the vehicle window is fully rolled down before making any ice smashing attempt.
