Man found shot in northwest Calgary dies in hospital

Police say the man was found in a Hillhurst alley and later died of his injuries
Calgary police are investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound and later died.
The man was found in the alley behind the 100 block of 15th Street N.W around 12:10 a.m., according to police.
"The 34-year-old man was transported to Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition and has since died," reads a news release on the death.
Police say an autopsy is scheduled for today in order to confirm the man's identity and cause of death.
"Citizens are asked to avoid the area west of 14 Street N.W. between Kensington Road and Second Avenue N.W. as the scene remains cordoned off," said police.
