Coke bust off Nova Scotia coast

Nine people are in custody Tuesday after more than 500 kilograms of cocaine was discovered in a sailboat off the coast of Nova Scotia.
The cocaine, which police say was coming to Canada from South America, had a street value of about $16 million.
The RCMP said the 14-metre sailboat, Friendship, was boarded Monday night. Gilles Thomas of Varennes, Que. was arrested on the boat.
Also arrested at locations in Quebec, Nova Scotia and Antigua were:
- Richard Gagnon, 40, of Verdun, Que.
- Pierre Gagnon, 40, of Carignan, Que.
- Nathalie Patry, 39, of Carignan, Que.
- Dante Tagliaventi, 45, of Antigua
- Diane Brosseau, 41, of Varennes, Que.
- Roger Bourbeau, 65, of Longueuil, Que.
Two more people were arrested but their names were not released.
