A new mental health walk-in clinic opened Thursday in Montague, P.E.I.

The clinic is located at the Community Mental Health Office, and will be open Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The province unveiled its timeline for mental health and addictions spending over the next five years after budgeting $100 million in P.E.I.'s last capital budget.

'There has been a team of experts looking at master programming for mental health and addictions services, asking the big questions,' says P.E.I. Health Minister Robert Mitchell.

$40M more for mental health will 'make a real difference in Islanders' lives,' says minister

More details Tuesday on how the province plans to improve mental health services across Prince Edward Island with $40 million announced in Friday's capital budget.

'We needed to make some improvements and enhancements in the community,' says P.E.I. Health Minister Robert Mitchell.

A registered community mental health therapist will be available to help Islanders dealing with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues,&nbsp;Health PEI said in a news release.

A summary, recommendations and possible referrals will be given to visitors when they leave.

 in six communities. Last year, more than 600 Islanders visited the clinics, according to the release.

The other clinics are located&nbsp;in Charlottetown, at the Richmond Centre and McGill Centre, as well as the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, the Lennox Island Health Centre, the O'Leary Health Centre and Westisle High School in Elmsdale.

New impaired driving rules will no longer require 'reasonable suspicion' for breathalyzer

New federal rules for impaired driving are expected to be rolling out over the next few weeks across Canada, which will broaden what circumstances police officers are allowed to administer a breathalyzer test.

Officers are looking for impaired drivers, speeding, seat belt use and texting and driving.

The new rules will come in handy if an officer, "feels that there's something not right with the driver, but can't form a reasonable suspicion that the person has consumed alcohol," says RCMP Staff-Sgt. Kevin Baillie.
