City had the 2nd most restaurants selected, behind Toronto
Calgary's restaurant scene is the second hottest in the country, at least according to one new ranking.
Online restaurant reservation service OpenTable released its annual ranking of the 100 best restaurants in the country Wednesday.
Calgary had the second most restaurants on the list with 16, falling behind Toronto with 47 and before Vancouver, which had 12.
And the ranking might cause the Calgary/Edmonton rivalry to heat up — Alberta's capital landed just four restaurants on the list.
The list was compiled from more than 500,000 reviews of over 2,500 restaurants across the country between Nov. 1, 2017, and Oct. 31, 2018, and restaurants were sorted by score calculated by each establishment's overall rating.
Alberta also came in as the second-best province, with 21 restaurants to Ontario's 57.
The following Calgary restaurants made the cut, in alphabetical order:
Anju
Bridgette Bar
Cucina Market Bistro
Escoba Bistro and Wine Bar
Hy's Steakhouse
Klein/Harris
La Chaumiere
The Nash
Pigeonhole
Posto Pizzeria and Bar
Q Haute Cuisine
Royale
Sukiyaki House
Ten Foot Henry
Vero Bistro Moderne
