Jarrett J. Krosoczka's work as a graphic novelist has reached huge audiences of kids, especially through the Star Wars: Jedi Academy series. So when Krosoczka started to open up publicly about his circumstances growing up, the ears of parents and educators perked up.
His new graphic novel, Hey, Kiddo, is his memoir about growing up as the son of a heroin addict. Krosoczka joined guest host Saroja Coelho from Houston to talk about his early life, how art became a refuge and how he knows what young readers can handle.
Hey, Kiddo is aimed at young adults and it's out now.
