Man dies after vehicle collides with plow

Accident occurred during first heavy snowfall of the season

A 63-year-old man has died after a head-on crash Friday morning with a snowplow on Larry Uteck Boulevard in Halifax, police say.
Police say the snowplow was heading outbound on Larry Uteck at 6:43 a.m. toward Kearney Lake Road when a vehicle struck it.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital, where he later died. The operator of the plow was not injured.
A post on the Facebook page for the Nova Scotia Islamic Community Centre-Kearney Lake Masjid mosque indicated the man had died. A member of the mosque said the man was a former member.
A friend confirmed the man died around 5 p.m.
