Lethbridge store clerk confined in back room by 'enraged' man

Female convenience store worker chased into back room and confined there

Police in Lethbridge, Alta., arrested a suspect after a man entered a convenience store and screamed at a store clerk, tossing things around before chasing her and confining her in a back room.
Officers were called to the 7-Eleven store on Columbia Boulevard at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
The man was extremely agitated and seemed to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance, police said in a release.
After a short standoff, officers arrested a 30-year-old man, but he "continued to have outbursts where he would become enraged and scream."
The woman was badly shaken by the incident but not physically hurt.
At the police station, the man continued to struggle with police and kicked the arresting officers, police said.
Jason Samuel McCrae, 30, was charged with uttering threats, unlawful confinement, mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, causing a disturbance, assaulting a police officer and breach of an undertaking.
He was released from custody and is set to appear in court on Nov. 30.
