George Fletcher is an active member of the K-W community both in and outside the classroom. And he's the first community co-host to join CBC Kitchener-Waterloo's Craig Norris on The Morning Edition this autumn.
Before becoming a teacher, "Fletch" had a diverse 20-year career in DJ-ing, music production, radio hosting and mentoring.
It was his love of education and music that encouraged him to get a Masters degree in Education, and then secure a job with the Waterloo Region District School Board.
Since then, he has continued to maintain both passions by mentoring youth in Waterloo Region in music.
He thinks the K-W Community co-host programme is an exciting opportunity to once again merge his interests in both teaching and media.
"Hopefully I can educate the listeners about some of the aspects of what I do," he said.
