Tatiana Maslany has been tapped to narrate The Hunger Games' audiobook as the series turns 10 in October. The special anniversary edition will contain interviews with Maslany, author Suzanne Collins and an in-depth timeline of the books' events, according to Entertainment Weekly(external link).
Maslany rose to stardom in the hit Canadian television series Orphan Black, playing several different characters who are clones of each other. She won the 2016 Emmy Award for best lead actress in a drama series.
The Hunger Games is the first in a YA trilogy about a teenage girl named Katniss Everdeen, who lives in one of 12 oppressed districts ruled by wealthy citizens from the Capitol. Each year, one boy and one girl is chosen from each district to compete in the Hunger Games, where they are placed in an arena and forced to kill one another until one victor remains.
Collins' dystopic series follows Katniss as she enters the Hunger Games to save her younger sister's life and inadvertently inspires an uprising in the districts. The books became a phenomenon among young readers and were later turned into a four-film franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence.
The Maslany-read audiobook will be available on Oct. 30.
