A thunderstorm watch by Environment Canada&nbsp;for the&nbsp;Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent regions has ended.

The alert was issued just before 9:30 a.m. and was called off just before 6 p.m.

However, a flood watch by the Essex Region Conservation Authority still remains in effect for&nbsp;Leamington.

ERCA warns the affected areas are&nbsp;the outlet of Sturgeon Creek to the tip of Point Pelee National Park, and the west and south coasts of Pelee Island.

The authority warns the flood may result in "significant erosion of nearshore areas."
