Insp. Patricia Ferguson from Ottawa police's major crime unit told reporters Sunday afternoon the victim had not been identified and his cause of death has not been determined.
She couldn't say if his death was gang-related or if he was a guest at the hotel.
Police have launched an internal investigation after a detailed, private report on the investigation so far was sent to nearly 200 email addresses, including those belonging to members of the media and City of Ottawa officials, on Sunday morning.
