The Calgary Pride Parade is on Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
The parade is now in its 28th year and according to the Calgary Pride website, started as "a small march of LGBT Calgarians, some of whom wore masks and bags over their faces to protect themselves from persecution."
The event has grown over the last few decades and is now the second biggest parade in Calgary — behind only the Stampede Parade — and it's definitely the most colourful events in our city
The parade route will start at 3rd Street S.E. and run west along 6th Avenue, turning north at 6th Street S.W. and ending at 3rd Avenue S.W.
