Floats, inflatables, and marching bands came together early Friday morning for Charlottetown's 57th Gold Cup Parade.

The City of Charlottetown is reminding motorists of traffic restrictions before, during and after the Gold Cup Parade on Friday morning.

Most road closures start around 9 a.m., with a section of North River Road closed starting at 7 a.m.

Many people in Charlottetown and eastern P.E.I. will get the day off Aug. 17 for Gold Cup and Saucer Day.

Some businesses and services have elected to stay open despite the blizzard conditions.

Many offices and businesses remain open with normal hours for Gold Cup and Saucer Day.

There were 105 floats in this year's parade, and thousands of spectators lined the streets to watch.

They were in place early waiting for the parade in downtown Charlottetown.

The theme was P.E.I.'s Got Talent, and the parade featured honorary parade marshals Gerard Gallant and Mike Kelly of the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
