★★★ STARS
This was a fun and enthusiastic production from local company Merlyn Productions. An adaptation of the classic, the script uses some fun audience participation to bring the audience in on the story early on.
The company is uneven, but there are some lovely moments of realization and humour for young audiences.
The ogre, Guy, and young princesses all put in good performances, conveying their characters well. What the show lacks in polish, it more than makes up for in a sense of play and enthusiasm.
The 10-year-old with me enjoyed the show — however, it felt targeted to a slightly younger audience.
