87-year-old Taber man badly beaten in home invasion

Woman and man from Lethbridge were arrested, now face multiple charges
Two suspects face charges after an 87-year-old man was severely beaten and robbed in a home invasion in Taber, Alta., early Wednesday morning.
Taber police were called to a home on 52nd Street in the town at about 1:20 a.m. They found the injured elderly man, who had also been robbed.
He was taken to hospital in Taber and then transferred to Lethbridge. He is expected to be released soon, police said.
Later the same day, police located and arrested two suspects, a 28-year-old woman and a 22- year-old man, both from Lethbridge.
Police say their names are not being released, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Both suspects were charged with break and enter, committing a robbery, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon. They were set to appear in provincial court on Friday.
Taber is about 50 kilometres east of Lethbridge.
