A thunderstorm warning is over for Ottawa and Gatineau after storm clouds moved quickly through the region Monday afternoon.

Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain through eastern Ontario.

The storm warning ended by about 4:30 p.m. for both Ottawa and Gatineau.

The high today was up to 36 C as of 3 p.m., but the humidity could make it feel more like 45.

The agency issued a heat warning for the region on Friday, and it is still in effect.

Don't expect a dramatic drop in temperature in the coming days either, as it is expected to stay hot for most of the week.
