Guy Delisle is celebrated around the world for graphic travelogues like Burma Chronicles, Jerusalem and Pyongyang, in which he explores the complex history and politics of a country while also describing his day-to-day experiences immersed in a new culture. His most recent book is Hostage, the true story of a Médecins Sans Frontières administrator named Christophe André who was held captive for three months while on a mission in the Caucasus region.
Delisle has been nominated for several Doug Wright Awards throughout his career and, in 2012, won the prize for best album for the French edition of Jerusalem at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, the world's pre-eminent comics festival.
