Douglas Coupland is a Canadian artist and writer. His books include Generation X, Hey Nostradamus!, jPod, The Gum Thief and Bit Rot. His art has appeared in the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. Coupland was made an officer of the Order of Canada in 2013. Generation X was a contender on Canada Reads(external link) 2010, when it was defended by Cadence Weapon. In 2015 and 2016 he was the artist in residence at Paris's Google Cultural Institute.
