A young child has died after falling into the water at Lake Bonaventure on Tuesday morning, CBC News has confirmed.
Emergency crews were called to the lake in the city's southeast just after 11 a.m., said Calgary Fire Department spokesperson Carol Henke.
She said family members or bystanders were performing CPR on the 15-month-old when emergency crews arrived within two minutes of the call to 911 dispatchers.

Emergency crews continued resuscitation efforts as they took the child to hospital.
It's not known how long the child had been under water.
"I can't even begin to know what this family is going through right now," Henke said.
