1 inmate remains at large after 4 escape from Red Deer Remand Centre

Inmates who were temporarily moved to 'less secure' area got out after breaking window
RCMP are still searching for one of four inmates who escaped from the Red Deer Remand Centre early Tuesday.
Four men escaped from the provincial correctional facility at 4720 49th St. in downtown Red Deer. Police were notified shortly after midnight.
Dallas Albert Rain, 28, remains at large.
One of the four escapees was caught Tuesday morning after cutting himself, and was taken into custody.
Two others, Quinn Russel Peterson, 26, and Douglas Brian Power, 52, were apprehended Tuesday evening when RCMP responded to calls of a stolen pickup truck, and later an ATV east of Innisfail and south of Highway 42 on Range Road 265.
When police arrived on scene in a field in Red Deer County, the two suspects were riding the ATV.
Peterson and Power were arrested and are now back in custody. One of them was caught by a police dog.
Some construction work at the correctional centre meant several inmates, including the four men, were transferred to a less secure area in the facility, Sgt. Ian Ihme said Tuesday.
"Then during the night they were able to break a window and they escaped through the window of the prison," he said.
A man outside the facility saw what was happening and contacted RCMP, he said.
"All three of them have some history of violence," said Ihme.
Members of the public are being told to avoid any interaction with Rain. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
