Police initially believed it was linked to an earlier fight between 10 people, but later found no connection.
They now believe it was a confrontation between two people in the same area that resulted in Cutter being stabbed.
He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries.
A warrant was issued for Kyle Stanley James Bearhat, 26, of Calgary on one count of manslaughter.
Bearhat was found at a home in Huntington Hills and arrested without incident Friday afternoon, police said in a release.
CPS Acting Staff Sgt. Mike Cavilla said security camera video showing the events preceding and following the altercation and witness accounts helped police identify the suspect.
Cavilla described Bearhat and Cutter as "loose associates," adding that Bearhat is known to police.
