Canadian singer-songwriter William Prince has had a big couple of years. He won Aboriginal Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2016, and Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the 2017 Junos.
With so much buzz around him, he just re-released his debut album, called Earthly Days. Right now, he's working on a follow-up to that album in Nashville with Dave Cobb, the same Grammy-winning producer who's collaborated with Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.
Even though Prince is rubbing shoulders with the super-producers down in Nashville, that doesn't mean he's forgotten where he came from. He's takes us on a tour of his hometown, the Peguis First Nation, and tells us how that place shaped him in this q Block Party.
Below are his song picks:
Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bad Moon Rising
