Brush fire ignites near Clavet, Sask.

Several fire trucks required for Sunday blaze

A brush fire broke out near the village of Clavet, Sask., on Sunday afternoon.
Several fire trucks from Saskatoon were on scene working to put out the flames.

Travis Weimer, a resident who lives about two kilometres away from where the fire is happening, said local farmers were working to prevent the fire from spreading by cultivating surrounding land.
That meant turning over the grass and bringing up dirt to the surface so the fire has trouble spreading.

The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
Clavet is located 18 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
