Christine Elliott and Doug Ford were very close in Kitchener ridings
The race between Christine Elliott and Doug Ford was closer than some might think here in Waterloo region.
When it came to votes cast, the two were neck-and-neck in the second ballot in the ridings of Kitchener Centre, Kitchener-Conestoga and Kitchener South-Hespeler.
See the results of the first, second and third ballot below.
First ballot
In the first ballot, Elliott was on top in all ridings. Tanya Granic Allen beat Caroline Mulroney in all Waterloo region ridings.
Second ballot
Granic Allen was dropped from the second ballot, but Mulroney did not make up much ground. Ford's numbers improved the most over his two rivals.
Third ballot
Ford and Elliott were within a few votes of each other in Kitchener Centre (Ford 229, Elliott 227), Kitchener-Conestoga (Ford 259, Elliott 258) and Kitchener South-Hespeler (Ford 212, Elliott 216).
Elliott was the top choice in Cambridge, Guelph and Waterloo.
