Anneliese Demos&nbsp;is a so-called Lost Canadian and had to go to a citizenship ceremony and take an oath for her ordeal to end.

A Winnipeg mother of four has been told she no longer has a Canadian citizenship and fears she’ll be deported to Paraguay — despite the fact she’s been in Canada since she was two and has a (now void) letter as proof of her citizenship.

Anneliese Demos got a letter in the mail last Friday informing her that her citizenship has been revoked. She came to Canada with her family at age two.

Winnipeg mother relieved she'll get her citizenship back

​A Winnipeg mother, who received a letter from the government telling her she wasn’t entitled to Canadian citizenship, has since been told she’ll be invited to a citizenship ceremony where she’ll be able to resume her Canadian identity.

Anneliese Demos got a letter in the mail earlier this month saying she was no longer entitled to citizenship. She's relieved she'll be able to become Canadian again and get to stay with her family.
