Fire alarm prompts evacuation of Veterans Affairs building

Fire trucks responded to an alarm at the Department of Veterans Affairs in downtown Charlottetown Friday morning.
The alarm was prompted by the smell of smoke in an elevator. The building was evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters investigated and then called the elevator maintenance company to look into the problem.
