An RCMP dive team has gone back to New Brunswick after being called in for a recovery operation&nbsp;this week on P.E.I.

The team was on the Island to search for a man who was reported to have gone into the river&nbsp;near the Hillsborough Bridge, which connects Charlottetown and Stratford, on Christmas Day.&nbsp;

P.E.I.&nbsp;RCMP said&nbsp;the icy conditions and cold temperatures this week made continuing the operation "too hazardous."

RCMP are hoping for a break in the weather so a dive team can continue the search for a man reported missing near the Hillsborough Bridge, which connects Charlottetown and Stratford.

Warman RCMP are continuing to investigate a motor vehicle collision that took place north of Martensville on Saturday evening, in which an 18-year-old pedestrian was struck. The male was found deceased at the scene.

P.E.I. RCMP investigate report of missing man

Queens District RCMP plan to search for a man reported to have gone missing near the Hillsborough Bridge on Christmas day.

RCMP are currently on the scene where four people were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after a collision on west of Belle Plaine at Stoney Beach Road and Highway 1.

The RCMP dive team from New Brunswick will help search for a man on P.E.I. 

Police&nbsp;said&nbsp;the dive team plans to come back when conditions improve, which could be a in few days or even weeks.

A small underwater remote-controlled device with a camera was used by the dive team Wednesday, but did not turn up anything.

​RCMP&nbsp;said&nbsp;no other person is involved and the incident is not&nbsp;considered suspicious.
